University of Albertan (U of A) alue on ihan hillittömän kokoinen - n. 1km x 1,5km - jossa sijaitsee lähes kaikkille tiedekunnille oma rakennuksensa ja kirjastonsa, asuntoloita, kaksi paikallisjunapysäkkiä ja jopa yksi kampuksen oma ostoskeskus! Yksinkertaisesti sanottuna, jos tarvitset jotain, ei periaatteessa tarvitse lähteä tätä aluetta pidemmälle. Halvempaa ruokaa löytyy toki kilometrin tai parin päästä olevista päivittäistavara/lääkekaupoista (apteekki ja ruokakauppa kun jostain kummallisesta syystä integroitu yhteen).
Meikäläisen asuntolassa, Listerissä on myös omat kauppansa ja ravintolat. Täältä löytyy myös urheiluhalli, joka on todella kovassa käytössä varsinkin iltaisin. Listerin "oma" urheilulaji on polttopallo, ja jokaisella tornilla ja kerroksella oman värinen pelipaitansa. Täytyy muuten olla ylpeä Schäfferin 6. kerroksesta (meikäläisen torni ja kerros), sillä he ovat aika pitkälti voittaneet kaikki pelit (ainakin minun tietojen mukaan). Säännöt on hieman erit kuin mitä meillä joskus ala-asteella, mutta onhan tuota kyllä hauska katsoa kun ihmiset pelaa tosissaan.
Ja jos sitä nyt innoistuisi taas kirjoittelemaan enemmän tänne, kun meinannut hieman laiskottaa...

School started three weeks ago, and it feels almost the same like in Oulu. Students in the class feels a little bit more active to ask questions from teachers. One exception here might be that almost every course has two exams: Midterm and Finals. Schooldays feels quite short (3 hours per day), which means that there is lots of free time, which I have mostly spend in my room idling.. Well I still got 3 months to explore Edmonton!

In my opinion, University of Alberta area is HUGE. There is own buildngs and libraries to almost every faculty, two local train stops and even own mall! Basically, if you need something, you don't propably have to leave the area. Cheaper food can be found in grocery stores, closest about 1 kilometer or so from here.

I live in Lister Center, where is also small store and restaurant, but also gym. At first floor there is always people at the evening watching and playing dodgeball, which can be considered Listers own game. Every tower and their floor has their own colored shirts. The rules are different from those that I've learned in elementary school, but its kinda fun to watch when people play that game half-serious.
I felt a bit lazy eversince I got here, but I will promise to try to write here a bit more often...
